Mark Cole

Senior Attorney

Mark Cole serves as Tennessee’s Legal Lead at Brighter Day Law and brings more than 25 years of litigation and legal experience in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area. A native Nashvillian, Mark attended both public and private schools before earning his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He went on to complete his Juris Doctor at the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where he was elected Second-Year Bar Governor and served as Executive Director of the Student Bar Association. 

After law school, Mark clerked for Chancellor Robert Corlew in Tennessee’s 16th Judicial District in Murfreesboro. He then practiced in Lafayette, Tennessee, as an associate and later partner in an insurance defense firm, handling cases in insurance defense, criminal, juvenile, and domestic relations law. His career has also included work in private practice, both with firms and as a solo practitioner. Mark later served the State of Tennessee in several roles: as a hearing officer with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, as a prosecuting and advising attorney for the Department of Health, and as an appeals attorney with TennCare, Tennessee’s Medicaid program. 

At Brighter Day Law, Mark focuses his practice on family law litigation, appeals, and administrative law, drawing on his broad experience in both the courtroom and state government. Known for his meticulous preparation, steady judgment, and practical problem-solving, Mark is dedicated to helping clients navigate complex legal issues with clarity and confidence. He chose Brighter Day Law for its commitment to client advocacy and its mission to guide individuals and families through difficult transitions with compassion and integrity. 

Mark is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and active in professional and community organizations. Outside the firm, he is involved in his church and fraternal group, is a member of the Nashville Area Beekeepers Association, and is an enthusiastic supporter of the Nashville Sounds. Mark is married with one child.
